Yes yes yes, yours is a religion of peace, my dear Muslim friends. And sure, a week ago I was posting on muslims in Iran convicting a woman of slutcraft and sentencing her to be stoned as well as the severe mutilation of professor TJ Joseph for his daring to… well, I’m not even sure why you guys got pissed at him. But I know those are just the entirely uncommon acts of extremists in your otherwise peaceful faith. You can see the peaceful nature of Islam any time they gather in numbers to scream out insults about the destruction of the west, when they insist on Shariah law as a means to properly punish their slutty women, when they arrange for women to get raped as a tool to convince them to become suicide bombers, and when they make lawsuits demanding the state-sponsored murder of facebook founders.
Well, let the peace wheel keep on turning. On Sunday, the kindly and loving cleric and/or Imam Anwar al-Awlaki (depending on who you ask) who is, according to Wikipedia, known as the bin Laden of the Internet has put Molly Norris, the woman who initially spurred the Everyone Draw Mohammad Day celebration, on a hit list.
How serious is this guy? Well, he’s linked to the Times Square Car Bomb That Couldn’t, gave sermons attended by three of the 911 hijackers, and helped inspire the Fort Hood shooter among many others. Yes, he’s a real inspiration to many of the devoted and peace-loving muslims both at home and abroad.
Yes, he’s a fanatic. Not every muslim is a fanatic. Not every muslim, upon seeing Molly Norris, will feel the hand of Allah steering them to kill her. But it’s enough of a threat that the FBI are involved. We’ve all learned a little something from Theo van Gogh. The fanatics are everywhere, and the job of people like al-Awlaki is to increase their numbers, and they’re bloody good at it.
A part of me wants to start my own hit list, but fighting fire with fire rarely works. So instead, I’m gonna pass the buck to those muslims who claim that their faith is actually a religion of peace. What in the blue hell are you people doing to counter the message of the terrorists? If it is a religion of peace, why are the recruiters for militant Islam doing such a bang-up job while you really only seem to cross my path long enough to tell me yours is a religion of peace and then fade into the background? I think it’s time for you people to put up or shut up.
