Let me just start by saying I don’t generally approve of violence. I won’t pretend that I’d never hit anyone or that I’m some kind of hippie, but I think that violence for the most part is ineffective. But I do approve of funny. I had no choice but to giggle imagining this fight.
It’s a hot day in Saudi Arabia. The midway of the amusement park is blinking and chattering as carnies sweet-talk the passers-by with promises of prizes to be won for the greater good of Allah. A Halal cotton candy dealer spins the bright pink fluff onto a cone of paper and sells it to a young boy. All is perfect.
Perfect, that is, until some slut walks by with a man who is neither her chaperone nor her family! Someone, somehow, make this madness stop! Call the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice quick!
Enter a cop, bristling with the pride and power one can only find defending Sharia against the infidels and the morally despicable. He saunters up to the couple and demands identification and an explanation of the status of their relationship. In awe of the cop’s power and authority, the male of the pair immediately falls unconscious, but the female, contrary to the generally accepted view of women in Saudi Arabia, actually defends herself. She lashes out with furious and indignant fists, clearly some sort of slutty heretic who refuses to accept her place. Caught off-guard, the cop is battered and bloodied and taken to hospital. Clearly, this woman was far more dangerous than the 14 girl-children his agency had previously killed while forcing them to remain in a burning school with no fire department assistance because men and women should never mingle, even in those times when the men can save the lives of the women. Ishna Allah.
What can I say? The story strikes my funny bone. First off, the idea that any intelligent society (and say what you will, Saudi Arabia is an industrialized nation) would have a police force specifically geared towards making sure women and men aren’t in the same room is just laughable. Add in the imagery of some milktoast guy fainting when he gets stopped by the thought police, and season with the image of a woman in such a women-suck society beating the bejeebers out of said cop for his infringing on her day, and that’s just a recipe for awesome.
I hope that we see more of this in Saudi Arabia. The bullies in power need to learn the hard way that they cannot expect that their women will put up with being treated like sub-humans. Cops are important. Cops whose job it is to make sure women and men aren’t alone together are abhorrent. Doesn’t anyone mass murder in Saudi Arabia? Shouldn’t they be focusing their investigations on legitimate crime? There must be better things for them to do.
Also, note that the image I chose was TNA Knockout Raeesha Said. Admittedly, she’s not really a muslim, but it makes me giggle. I can’t believe wrestling is still pulling out the race card.
